So I've been trying to find an req 7 shield for my paragon...well, another one since I've got a skull shield, but I don't like the look of it. The question is does anyone know if the Reinforced Defender, Draconic Aegis or Amethyst Aegis drop with req 7/15 armour?

I've been spamming on Kamadan and posting in the buy forum for quite a while and not getting any responses trying to buy these skins.

As for the rest, i've seen Re-inforced defender's with the stats.

You do know you can just play with a q9 shield right?

As for the SKull - did you buy it or find it? I'm curious as to where to find them.

I've seen non-max drop for all over the place, I was just wondering if there was a chance Amethyst or Draconic might drop as well...and I also know that if they do exist they'd probably cost an arm and a leg. But who knows, I might find some unknowing and unfortunate fool who gets dropped one of these and just wants to unload it not knowing it's true value.

As for the skull, it was a response from my buy thread here. I haven't heard anything else since then.

And, yes, I do know I can use req 9s, but I've already got a req 7 in the Skull Shield. Now, I'm just trying to find a req 7 in a skin that I like.

Well, i don't think you can get Amethyst with these stats. I could be wrong.

Not had much response from my Buy thread for the shields, - so i just use a Tengu one.

In Arachni's in NM I got one of the lvl14 spiders to drop a req7/AL14 Reinforced (purp. too) so that's one spot to try and find one.

And Draconic and Amythist only drop as high-end golds, so they're going to consistantly be AL16.

Yeah and with the high volume of paragon spiders there, you have a better chance of having one drop there than anywhere else I think.

Yes, I agree skull shields are rather funky (in a bad way) but Richardt is right, Draconic and Amythist only drop as high-end, max AL golds.

Draconic and Amythist only drop from chests as others have said so you won't find R7 of those types. Either keep your skull shield and have the extra +4 dmg from the 1 att or switch your atts for 9 in cmd or moti and use any thing you want. You are only sacrificing maybe +4 dmg in spear mastery for a R9 sheild.

If you want form over function, sacrifice the 8 armor from meeting the shield requirement, and use the skin you want. If you must have the armor and meet the shield requirement, then you'll have to drop points from Spear to equip your desired shield.

I don't want form over function, I want function first and once function is satisfied I then want form as well. I've got the req 7 skull shield, but since I've got the cash, now I'm looking for something that's got the skin as well. I don't want to compromise, by taking the half armour or losing the points from spear mastery, I want form and function and I've got the gold to afford it (the only problem now if finding someone that's selling one of them...).

The thing is, I didn't know exactly which was available. I thought that Reinforced Defenders dropped with a 7 req, but I wasn't entirely sure, hence my asking, and if you look at where they're available, it's not exactly showing up everywhere. The only difference is that Draconics and Amethysts only come from chests, but you know what? I've gotten non-max golds from dungeon chests before, so as far as I knew it might have been possible...so, you know, I asked.

Stop me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the point of having a q7 shield so you didn't have to use a major spear rune?

So really, you can go ahead and use your fancy q9 shield, still keep the 14 spear mastery and you're only losing 35 health, which isn't bad since as a para you're midlining and not taking much in the way of damage.

This is what I use and I sit at a comfortable level of health and rarely die (unless my stupid heroes forget to heal me!).

Having Req 7 shield just mean you have 1 more in Spear Mastery, don't need to run major with Req 9. Req 7 = 12+1+1/11+1/6+1 split and Req 9 = 11+1+1/11+1/8+1 split. +1 Spear Mastery isn't worth the 35hp. If you want lower Leadership to 10 for 14 spear mastery.
